The Lord Mayor of Oxford pulled her first pint at the re-opening of a city pub following its refurbishment.
The Butchers Arms, in Wilberforce Street, Oxford, has had its bar extended and access for the disabled introduced during a £100,000 renovation programme that took 12 weeks to complete.
The Lord Mayor, Cllr Maureen Christian, gave a speech to officially re-open the Butchers Arms and then pulled a pint for two thirsty Shire horses which had pulled a dray - a cart for carrying beer barrels - to the pub for the event.
The landlord of the Fuller's pub, Graham Young, said: "She approached the task with trepidation but she succeeded well in the end."
