A 25-year-old woman was treated for the effects of smoke inhalation after a cooker caught fire in a house in Botley Road. Firefighters were called at 8.10pm and put the blaze out. Ambulance staff treated the woman, who did not need to go to hospital.   more...

Julia Penny of the Thames Valley Society of Chartered Accountants has warned small enterprises may suffer after April 2002 when large companies gain the legal right to charge interest at eight per cent above base rate on invoices paid late.
