The Oxfordshire church where John Wesley preached his first sermon is celebrating the 300th anniversary of his birth.
St James the Great Church in South Leigh, near Witney, is holding a tercentenary flower festival on Saturday, June 14, and Sunday, June 15, with the life of John Wesley as its theme. The founder of Methodism launched his career at the church's pulpit while he was a Fellow of Lincoln College, Oxford in 1725.
Teas served from 2.30pm on both days. On Sunday evening there will be a concert by the Christminster Singers at 7.30pm.
