Shipton-under-Wychwood are just one game away from a return to Lord's after a seven-wicket victory over Welsh champions Ynystawe in the National Village Championship quarter-finals yesterday.
Paul Hemming's men must now travel to Findon, in East Sussex, on August 17 to book their place at cricket's HQ for a second successive year.
And you wouldn't dare bet against Shipton retaining the trophy they collected last season after they produced an excellent all-round display.
Jason Constable was the star, smashing a 12-over half-century as Shipton easily passed Ynystawe's 144-7.
The Welsh side got off to a flying start, finding themselves on 40-0 off seven overs, and 53-0 off 12, with Paul Snell's first three overs going for 24 runs.
But Phil Garner and Shaun Miller clawed Shipton back into the game with some tight spin bowling, Miller's figures of 2-13 off his nine overs being just reward.
Garner bowled Jonathan Hobschmid for the initial breakthrough, and fellow opener Andrew Beasley - who, like Hobschmid, looked a very capable batsman - got frustrated by Miller and skied a catch which Chris Panter did very well to take on the undulating long off boundary.
Ynystawe struggled to find the gaps, and apart from one enormous six off Panter from Shaun Jenkins, were largely reduced to singles.
Incredibly, despite having wickets in hand, they could only muster 15 off the final five overs as Constable and Snell (who only conceded three runs off his final three overs) restricted them to 144-7.
Constable then set about some lacklustre bowling, smashing Paul Discombe to all parts of the ground before reaching his 50 in the 12th over with the score on 75.
Although he holed out to Richard Gordon, he had laid the platform for victory.
Steve Bates and Stewart Gillett chipped in with key contributions, before Hemming and Garner were left to seal victory in the 36th over to silence the noisy Welsh crowd.
