Sarah Broadway has declared she may never cycle again.
Taking account of the horrendous injuries she suffered seven months ago, this is hardly surprising.
In many ways Sarah is one of the lucky ones, in spite of the many hours she has spent in the operating theatre and the number of operations she still faces. She is around the tell her story -- and a harrowing one it is.
What is clear is that the St Aldate's-Speedwell Street junction in Oxford is a potential death trap. Three accidents at the same spot points is more than coincidence.
The county council is carrying out its own investigation into why this apparently innocuous junction should be so treacherous. The findings cannot come soon enough.
Our councils want more people to use cycles in and around the city. This will only happen when cyclists feel safe enough to do so. If this means separating cyclists from all other traffic, then this must be the answer.
