Arrests follow brothel raids

From the The Oxford Times, first published Saturday 2nd Feb 2008.

POLICE have made two arrests following raids on homes in Oxford and Buckinghamshire thought to be linked to prostitution.

Officers yesterday targeted a house in All Saints Road, Headington, and a property in Wendover Road, Stoke Mandeville, near Aylesbury.

Police confirmed two people were being questioned following the Buckinghamshire raid. No one was arrested at the Oxford address.

A spokesman said a 41-year-old man and a 47-year-old woman had been arrested on suspicion of living off immoral earnings and being involved in the management of a brothel.

Police believed women from eastern Europe were working at the Oxford house. Yesterday's raid was part of Operation Pentameter, which is investigating human trafficking.
